It seems that Facebook is going to make sure that both men and women both have equal prominence when it comes to the friends icon. In the past you would notice that the male icon was slightly larger and taller. Also, the female icon will not be in the back of the male icon.
At the writing of this article, The Verge blog has reported that the icons were currently visible on mobile but not on desktop. We also noticed that the group icon received the same treatment.
