This is Hank Hoffmeier with a marketing and business tip. Thank you for joining me today.

What I would like to talk about is starting somewhere. Everyone starts somewhere in business, right? Maybe you start with one product, or maybe you have a service and you start with one customer and you grow from there. When you start using email marketing you start with one email subscriber, or maybe a few. But everyone starts somewhere, and you grow.

The basic thing you need to do is be consistent with growth. Make sure that you are doing everything you can to increase the amount of customers you have, the amount of email addresses your acquiring, if using email marketing, increasing the amount of followers you have on social media, the amount of value that you are putting out there. Whether it is something free in conjunction with a product somebody bought, free shipping, or maybe a little prize or a little bonus. It could be valuable information such as a white paper or video.

Just continue to look at how you can add a +1 to everything. That is something that I live by, is pausing when I look at communicating with someone, sending an email, putting out content, What I do is, I normally take us to take a step back and stop and say “how can I add a +1 to this?”, ” how can I make this slightly better so that it is received by the recipient, my customers, vendors, partners etc.”. “How can it be received better?” Make people feel that I am engaged, that I really care and I want to provide value.

So, take a look at what you are doing. Remember that everyone starts somewhere, and you grow. And you grow by doing things better. You look at what you are doing and you make improvements. You add more value. You add more products. You add more or a better service. Do things differently. Provide something that is unexpected, whether it is just communication. Whether it is financial, or if it is product related. Give people something to talk about. Wow them. That increases your brand awareness, your word-of-mouth referrals, your overall integrity increases, and people start talking about you more and they may tend to want to work with you more.

Again, start somewhere, grow, teach others, provide value. I know that I am rambling, but hopefully this hits home. Everything starts somewhere, right? We were born into this world, and then we grow as a person, and we become better. We become more professional, then we start to own businesses, and we spent time with families, and then we retire and enjoy life. You we grow through life, where as you grow through business. No better way to do that than to keep improving and don’t stop.
