Instagram added a new search and explore feature that includes trending hashtags and customized results of accounts that you might want to follow.
You can still used the general search feature to find people or brands that you would like to follow. The search feature includes the ability to search by place, tag or people. The explore feature allows you to view posts based on popular topics. You will be able to see about three posts right off and you can then scroll to see more or click on “see all”
One of the first reasons you should use these new features is so that you can find people to follow. This will allow you to engage and grow your audience so that your content will be consumed and may help you with growing your business.
Another reason you should use the search and explore feature, is so that you can search for trending or recently used hashtags. Along with Twitter, the use of hashtags are very popular on Instagram. You should use hashtags to find discussions that you can become involved in. This may help you gain new followers or at least find interesting people to follow.
Lastly, you can use top posts and highly rated tags to inspire things for you to post on Instagram or other social media channels. If you find yourself with posting block (similar to writer’s block), you can find great posts to help you think of a great post to create.
